Who is Andy Licht?
Andy Licht is a lifelong resident of Beverly Hills, graduate of Beverly Hills Schools, Chair of the Beverly Hills Planning Commission, previous member of the City’s Traffic and Parking Commission, and community leader. A principal of Beverly Hills based Licht Entertainment since 1981, Andy is a successful and respected film and television producer. Now, Andy Licht plans to bring that experience, commitment and creativity to City Council.
As his three children were attending Beverly Hills schools, Andy began his career in public service. He served as a member of the Beverly Hills Unified School District Citizens Oversight Committee, and countless others. Continuing his commitment to the community he calls home; Andy was unanimously selected by the City Council to serve on the Planning Commission in 2016 and was re-appointed to a second term in 2018.
He served as Chair of the Planning Commission in 2018 and was reappointed chair in 2021. Previously, Andy Licht served two terms on the City's Traffic and Parking Commission, also having been appointed as Chair. In total, Andy has spent more than 12 years on an array of City Commissions, working to improve Beverly Hills.
Andy's success in the entertainment business (at only 23-years old, he was under contract to Warner Bros.) has allowed him to continue to pursue his passion for civic and charitable causes.
He has used his producing talents to help create charity fundraisers for numerous organizations including the United Jewish Fund, Big Brothers, The Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the Santa Monica Blvd. Blue-Ribbon Committee, the Metro Subway Station Area Advisory Committee and the Beverly Hills Centennial Committee.
In 2019 Andy and his wife, Lisa, were honored at Temple Emanuel’s annual Beverly Hills Ball for serving the community in so many ways. Andy earned a BA in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he graduated with honors. He earned an MFA at USC's Peter Stark Program, graduating Cum Laude. He is a lifetime member of the Academy of Motion Picture, Arts and Sciences. Andy has been married to Lisa (Schilling) Licht for 30 years.
